** As recently reported in the New York Times: **

Mediterranean Diet May Cut Risk of Diabetes!

Enjoying the Mediterranean diet — rich in olive oil, grains, fruits, nuts, vegetables and fish, and low in meats and dairy — may indeed lower the risk for diabetes.

The study was published online May 29, 2008 in The British Medical Journal.

As we all are aware, there are good fats, like those found in olive oil, that are delicious and very healthy. The study challenges the belief that a strictly low-fat diet is the key to good health.

Conclusion The Mediterranean diet is associated with a reduced risk of diabetes.
